This bearing is responsible for supporting the most loaded component in the Warn 8274 high mount design - the brakeshaft.

This shaft not only transfers drive, but also applies the braking force to the drum when you are hanging off the rope or cable. A seized bearing will slow the winch down, cause wear on the shaft and lead to premature failure of the brakeshaft shaft and/or winch.

Always ensure the inner race is greased before installation and when serviced.
